The book “Joy Luck Club” by Amy Tan discuss about the childhood of Jing Mei’s family. It’s about how they overcame their obstacles. Everyone has their problems with their parents and how they fix them. Amy likes to use Chinese to describe her feelings. Nevertheless, she discuss about the Chinese celebration. The book was written during the World War II. Immigrant parents’ unrealistic dreams that accidently put the pressure on their children to be the best in the new country. They also talks about the Chinese culture and where the fairy tales come from. I strongly recommend this book to those who are interest in learning a new culture and to understand more of what the immigrants have been through in the United States.
